[Disoriented is a word for what Philip feels upon waking on the Barge. There's a dull throb of pain in his chest and his head, things he know he should be dead from, and his shirt is still slick with blood. He also recognizes the room he wakes up in with everything where it should be, but he knows it should burned out. The view outside the windows, however, aren't looking out into the streets of Woodbury, but an infinite void. He isn't sure if this is what death is supposed to be like, but he has a feeling it's not because it feels very much alive.]

[He's willing to stay as long as it takes to change and clean the blood off his face, but no longer than that. He doesn't feel particularly keen on lingering in a room with this many reminders right now. Already he's trying hard to not think of what just happened, the large amount of nothing he just left behind once more. He looks for any of his weapons before leaving to find them gone. So perhaps not everything is in its place. But no matter. He can improvise if the situation calls for it.]

[Stepping outside into the hall, he still doesn't know what to make of any of this. but if there's one thing he knows, it's that he needs to get his bearings and so he sets off to learn the layout of wherever the hell he's ended up.]

You don't let something like that live. You sure as hell don't let it live comfortably.

I'm well aware of that. You still don't let a thing like that walk around, putting people's lives in danger.

No... but I don't think putting him in Zero every week would be very fair. And killing him over and over again would be terrible. It's not so easy...

It'd be more than he'd deserve.

[Does he mean that as in that's too harsh of a punishment or that's not harsh enough? He doesn't say anything further to specify.]

That doesn't make it okay.

You care more about his well-being than the well-being of others on-board?

I just don't think that murder is a valid solution.

It's not murder. It's eliminating a threat.

Besides, you can't exactly kill something that wasn't alive to begin with, now can you?

It IS murder, and it's wrong, even if it isn't permanent.

Then what exactly would you propose?

I told you it wasn't such an easy thing. But you can't just go around killing people whenever you like.

A vampire isn't a person.

You don't get to decide who's a person and who isn't.

I'm not. That's a basic fact of nature.

You're wrong. He's a person, every bit as much as you or anyone else on this ship!

I used to think that once. But the dead are just that. There isn't a person there.

[ She is apalled by this statement (and clearly not the one of the pair in her body meant to be an inmate). ]

Thinking like that is probably why you're here.

It's what got people dead too, I bet!

[It did. It got plenty of people dead. People that betrayed him. People that took from him. The problem was that it wasn't always the right people that ended up paying the price. She can't see it, but his gaze on the communicator becomes distant for a few moments and he makes no move to respond to her right away.]

[He won't leave it at that though. He can't leave it at that.]

No. What got people killed was their own weakness. They weren't meant to survive the world the way it is now.

If that's true then neither were you.

[The truth is there was nothing left to stay for. He didn't care what happened to himself anymore. All he wanted to do was hurt, destroy. Take everything that had been stolen from him. But he won't admit that to Aya, to anyone. So, he sends nothing back.]
